Wow! I can not believe that my last post was September 7. BAD BAD BAD!!!!!!!! This is horrible. I guess I could say that I have been swamped at work and school or busy running around DC, but really I hate excuses for laziness! To my few, but devoted readers I apologize for my lazy ass. I promise it is back in gear. Let's start things off shall we. . .
First - Running: it sucks!!!!!!!!!! I have decided that I hate running. Actually, I think I have always hated running, but this marathon training has reminded me of the pure hatred I have for it. I think it is boring. Absolutely, 100%, with out a doubt BORING!!!!!! I have been running for about 6 weeks now and I can honestly say I find no interest in it. It hurts. I have discovered knee, sheen, and ankle pains that I have never had before and I feel like it takes up a lot of time (probably because I am so slow). Because I have no interest in running it makes it harder to keep up with it. I seriously dread it everyday!!!! I need to find ways to make it more interesting. If you have any thoughts on the matter please share. I am desperate!!!!!!!!
DC Life - I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! I love my job, my roommates (well most of them), this city, and pretty much everything! We have had some minor bumps in the yellow brick rode, but for the most part everything is okay. The city is beautiful and the weather is amazing. Fall is just around the corner and I am so ready for the leaves to change. Exciting news - MY BFF is coming into town next week and I am super excited! We are going to have so much fun together. I am definitely convinced that once she is up here she will never want to leave. I also get paid at the end of the month which I am in desperate need of. I spend money up here like it is going out of style. Mom does not appreciate this.
Bad news - I got in a horrible fight the other day with my coach/very good friend M&M. Things are better, but I am still very hurt. Needless to say this marathon training is totally up to me now. It's not even that she doesn't want to be my coach anymore. . .it's the way it went down and the way I felt like she handled it. I know when I am wrong and I will say when I am wrong, but I was not wrong about this!!!!!! Still love her, but still hurt. Other bad news - I am SICK!!! I mean REALLY SICK!!!! Running is definitely out of the question for the week, which is not good being that the marathon is like a month away.
Do I feel ready for this marathon? No. Will I still participate in the marathon? Yes.
The blog is going to get a little weird because I am going to have some blast from the past entries. Just hang with me until we are up to speed. Hope all is well with everyone! God Bless.
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trials; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12

We Will Miss You Lana!

I found out Thursday morning that one of my favorite Bracken/Aggies went to see our Lord after a long, painful fight with cancer. Lana Beth Fisher was honestly beautiful in every way! She lived life joyfully and with purpose and always made every day count. She is survived by her husband Chad Fisher and plenty of family members who are in my thoughts and prayers.
I first met Lana when I was a Freshmen in high school. Randi and Lana were my favorite Seniors because they were the only ones that would ever pay any attention to the lower classman. We used to sit around before basketball games and talk about horses. She was always so sweet, supportive, and uplifting. When I was a Senior in high school she let me and some of my fellow classmates come stay with her in College Station, while we visited the Texas A&M campus. She loved TAMU and was so excited and willing to share the joys of being an AGGIE!!! "It will be the best years of your life", she said.
Even though I am very sad she is no longer with us I know she is no longer in pain. She is walking (or riding :) with our Lord cancer free and smiling like she always did. Even through the entire 2 years of fighting cancer she was always smiling.
You brought joy and many blessings to our lives Lana. I will miss you. See you soon!
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Uh Oh!!!!
I thought very long and hard about writing this blog. Should I do it? or should I not? I know some people are probably going to get mad about this, but I can't help it. This is supposed to be about my DC life and I have to be real with yall.
I went off the books today and drank! I know I know. . . I wasn't supposed to. I went to watch a movie in the park tonight and people brought bottles of wine. I had some. I am a little tipsy right now and instead of blogging the actual dates in a row like I was supposed to I am interrupting with this drunken blog!!!!!!!!!!!
First off - Why are people so fake. I even catch myself being fake and I HATE IT!!!!!!! I just want to be myself, but why is this so hard? Am I so afraid that people will hate the real me? Why put on the facade? If you are not going to be who you are supposed to be. . . WHO GOD MADE YOU TO BE than why bother???? Why is it so easy to lose yourself here??? I thrive and then I fall so easily!!!!!!!!
This is where I am supposed to be, but it is also where the devil can easily penetrate my weaknesses and use them against me. I am a very outgoing, strong, hardworking, dedicated, life of the party, loving, relationship oriented type of person. I posses a lot of leadership, but with this strength comes my weaknesses which can be my demise.
I sometimes follow the crowd which I hate!!!! I pray for strength and wisdom!!! God HELP ME to know what is right, good, and helpful for my life!!!!!!!!!!!! Be thou my vison. . .deliver me from evil. . .ruin my life. . .let your grace fall upon me. . .save me Lord for I am weak and helpless without YOU!!!!!!

Hello Mt. Vernon Trail
August 25, 2009
So I am back to running on my favorite trail!!!!! Ugh. . . I forgot how hard this trail was. This eighteen mile trail runs through Alexandria, Arlington, and DC all along the potomac river. It is absolutely beautiful, but the trail can get a little rough. Well, at least for me the Rookie. http://bikewashington.org/trails/vernon/index.php
Ran 3 miles this morning at 4:30am. When I say run I mean mostly at a brisk walk. It took forever!!!
Time: 1 hr
Distance: 3 miles
Weight: 260
Emotions: a little discouraged
Days till Half marathon: 83
We have a long way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Psalms 37:24
Though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with His hand.

Hello VA!!!!! IM HOME!!!!! So, I am officially settled in to my apartment. It took me all day with multiple trips to the target and grocery store with different roommates. It sucks to be the only roommate with a car because you end of being a taxi service, but I don't mind. I love my roomies. For privacy purposes I have decided to give each of them new names for the blog since I am sure they will become a frequent topic.
Meet the Roommates (names are subject to change)
Muscle Milk: he is a body builder! This guy is huge! He loves to workout almost as much as he loves himself. He has a horrible attitude and he is basically just a big bully. We have already gotten into a fight and it's the first day. I may kill him!!!!! He also walks around without any cloths on all the time (which can be nice), but his attitude ruins it.
Homo-licious: I LOVE HIM!!!! He is one of my favorite people in the program. It is true what they say "all the good guys are either married or gay!!!!" We have a lot of fun together. We are going to be travel buddies to and from work since our offices are in the same building and eight doors down from each other. He is definitely the life of the party. We are going to get in a lot of trouble together ;-)
Fun size: she shares the master bedroom and bathroom with me. We get along great. She is very compliant, which can be kind of annoying. Especially when she lets Muscle Milk boss her around. That drives me crazy!!!! Stop being so submissive and get a back bone!!!!! I love her though. She is a sweetheart and a lot of fun. Her and Homo-licious are my favorite roommates.
Mamma's Boy: I only got to speak with him briefly because he just came by to drop off his stuff and head to New York, but he came with his mom who set up the room for him. WHAT!?!?! He definitely has a baby boy look about him and he is very quiet.
I have one other roommate, but he will not be here until next week. Can't wait to meet him!!!!
I may sound a little harsh, but what would be the point of the blog if you can not speak freely and honestly, right? Plus, I want yall to be along for the ride. Day 1 is completed and I am going ot bed. God Bless and good night!
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (New International Version)
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Back In DC!!!!
This blog will also contain information about my life in DC. Since my job requires a good amount of discretion I can not tell you what office I am working for or who I am (although some of you can obviously figure it out). I would ask that those who know me would avoid identifying me in their comments. I would like to keep my job.
Since I have already interned in Washington, D.C. I can promise, from experience, that this blog will not be boring. Something is always going on and I plan to relay events to you through this blog. I also must warn you that I plan on giving some opinions on political issues, so please try not to take offense. However, I do welcome a good arguement. I always want to learn more, so if you think it is an issue that I have been misinformed about by all means say something. If you like what I have to say or want to add something, your comments are appreciated!
